A Whale of A Day in Nantucket

Last weekend is a perfect example of why I LOVE my job! We had two weddings - one Friday and one Saturday, and the bride's couldn't have been more different.

Annie was married on Friday at First Congregational Church and a tented reception out in Tom Nevers. Annie is a mixed media artist, and loves color! Her color palette consisted of Aubergine, Agate, Magenta and Lilac. It wasn't for the faint of heart (and I LOVED it).

Annie told me she loved poetry in our first design meeting together - and my immediate response was to name the tables after her favorite poets with a verse from a poem. She designed her stationary and it looked amazing!

We used the family's silver for containers and had an eclectic mix on each table. Annie and her mom gave me numerous vessels to choose from, and in the end, we used them all! Tall candelabras gave us height to fill the space of the tent.

Annie and Luke each had their own cake (by Jodi's cakes)- he had a whale (how stinkin' cute is this cake!?) and she had a beautiful, elaborate cake that I of course did not get a good shot of.

I can't wait to see the professional photos by Pixel Perfect!

Our wedding on Saturday with Emily was a sweet, romantic Nantucket soiree in Sconset. White and blue were her colors and the simple elegance fit the tented reception. The talented Zofia photography took photos and we'll be sure to post a few images when we get our hands on them!
