Navy and White is always in style on Nantucket.
Maggie and Jeff were aiming for a clean, sophisticated look with a nautical touch for their August wedding in 2010. It's hard to believe that was just about five years ago and it's great to see how trends evolve and to see what brides even this year are asking for.
The couple's ceremony took place at the First Congregational Church (one of our favorites!) and kept it simple with blue hydrangea pew markers to line the aisle. The bridesmaids wore navy dresses and carried blue, white and green bouquets of hydrangea, lady's mantle, orchids and scabiosa - perfect for a summer wedding!
Orchids were a mainstay in our palette - they provided the perfect touch of modern elegance to our arrangements and are great in warm weather! Guests were greeted at the reception with an escort card display with gorgeous white orchids spilling out of a glass vase.
The tables were a mix of round and long, the long table being the head table with a grand display of tall glass vases and white orchids and hydrangeas atop navy linens.
The round tables were designed with large vases with submerged green orchids, floating candles and small arrangements surrounding it. This color palette is so classic yet still exudes such a modern vibe!
